Monday, 23 September... Until July, 2020

The project will involve laying approximately 1.2 km of new water mains along Brockham Lane and Middle Street. It is a major project that will be completed in three phases:

Phase 1, Junction Closure

  • 23 September to mid-November - A25 Junction to The Cedars
Phase 2, Temporary Traffic Signals

  • Mid-November to January 2020 - The Cedars to River Mole Bridge
Phase 3, Road Closure

  • January 2020 to July 2020 - River Mole Bridge to Wheelers Lane
Apart from minor interruptions of 30 to 60 minutes, as each property is individually connected to temporary and replacement water mains, water supplies will continue as normal while the old water main is being replaced. We will make sure those customers whose water supply is directly affected by these works are notified in advance.

We are aware of the Bonfire Night Event which takes place in the village in November. It is our intention to demobilise the site completely for this event in order to minimise disruption.

We have contacted the local bus companies and refuse collection contractors to inform them of the planned road closures. If you experience any issues with either of these services, please contact Surrey County Council. With regards to personal deliveries, we ask that you make the relevant company aware that a signed diversion route will be in place for phases 1 and 3.

Where our work leads to unavoidable disruption to the usual operation of businesses, and in particular where there is clear evidence that our work has had an impact on the profits, we will pay compensation for that loss. Please visit our website for more information about our policy for loss of business earnings.
